As the Founder and CEO of AIBrain, Inc., based in Palo Alto, California, USA, Richard’smission is to find the vision of realizing “true” AI and also to augment human intelligence with AI to contribute to a better world.Before AIBrain, Richard founded Bonavision, Inc., Seoul, Korea in July 1997. Bonavision has survived as one of a few AI companies since founded in July 1997. As an AI robotics company, it has been involved in major government research and development initiatives including the ten year Frontier 21 intelligent robotics initiative and the five year Korea-US Joint initiative of building a cognitive consumer robot. The aim is to launch one of the most intelligent smartphone robots in the world during the Fall of 2015 both in Korea and in the US.He also founded CROSSCERT, as the first digital certification authority in Korea in 1999.For the past 16 years, it has been the only global certification authority in Korea. It has been steadily growing in revenue and profit since it reached break-even in 2006. It went IPO to Korean Stock Exchange on November 19, 2010. Since the IPO, it has been globalized in the US and EU for the past four years.

Richard earned a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Georgia Institute of Technology, 1989, with his Ph.D. Thesis: A Unified Approach to Analogical Reasoning. He also earned M.S. in Computer Science from Pennsylvania State University, 1984 and B.S. in Applied Mathematics from Seoul National University, 1974.
